MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES or THE UMVERSITY OF ILLINOIS November 1 7 , 1 9 7 8 T h e November meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in Chicago Room C, Chicago Mini Union, Medical Center campus, Chicago, Illinois, on Friday, November 17, 1978, beginning at 9:00 a.m. President George W. Howard I I I called the meeting to order and asked the secretary to call die roll. T h e following members of the board were present: Mr. William D. Forsyth, Jr., Mr. Ralph C. Hahn, Mr. George W. Howard III, Mr. Robert J. Lenz, Mr. Park Livingston, Mr. Earl Langdon Neal, Mrs. J a n e Hayes Rader, Mrs. Nina T. Shepherd, Mr. Arthur R. Velasquez. Governor James R. Thompson was absent. T h e following nonvoting student trustees were present: Miss Venus D. Kooper, Chicago Circle campus; Mr. Paul A. Sobotka, Medical Center campus; M r . Charles S. Watson, Urbana-Champaign campus. Also present were President John E. Corbally; Dr. Peter E. Yankwich, vice president for academic affairs; Chancellor Joseph S. Begando, Medical Center campus; Chancellor William P. Gerberding, Urbana-Champaign campus; Chancellor Donald H . Riddle, Chicago Circle campus; Mr. David Landman, university director of public information; and the officers of the board, Dr. Ronald W. Brady, comptroller (also vice president for administration for the University); Mr. James J. Costello, university counsel; and Dr. Earl W. Porter, secretary. 119
