The committee also recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded to two candidates who passed the standard written examination in May 1978 in Illinois and who have fulfilled all other legal requirements under Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended. Advisory Committee for the College of Pharmacy, Medical Center

(4) The chancellor at the Medical Center campus has recommended the following appointments to the Advisory Committee for the College of Pharmacy for threeyear terms ending June 30, 1981. TRUDEAU, institutional pharmacist, director, Pharmacy Services, Brokaw Hospital, Normal Ex-officio members for 1978-79 MARTIN I. BLAKE, chairman, Illinois State Board of Pharmacy EDWARD DUFFY, president, Illinois Pharmaceutical Association JAMES METZGER, president, Illinois Council of Hospital Pharmacists I recommend approval. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Chicago Circle

(5) The chancellor at Chicago Circle has recommended the appointment of Richard M. Johnson, presently acting vice chancellor for academic affairs, as vice chancellor for academic affairs and professor of political science on indefinite tenure, effective October 21, 1978, on a twelve-month service basis, at an annual salary of $49,500. This recommendation is made with the advice of the serach committee listed below.1 T h e vice president for academic affairs concurs in the recommendation. I recommend approval. Appointments to the Faculty

(6) The following new appointments to the faculty of the rank of assistant professor and above, and certain administrative positions, have been approved since the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees. Positions in the University are classified in the following categories and are designated in the budget by the symbols indicated. A — Indefinite tenure N — T e r m appointment not eligible to be appointed for an indefinite term and not credited toward probationary period Q — Initial term appointment for a professor or associate professor 1 Beverly Lynch, University librarian and professor of library administration, chairperson; Geraldirie Brownlee, assistant professor of education* Edward Colker, research professor of art; Mary Ann Janda, graduate student; Richard Kosobud, professor of economics and head of department; Paul Raccah, professor of physics and head of department; Jan Rocek, professor of chemistry and dean of the graduate college; and David P. Street, professor of sociology and head of department; Mario Valdes, professor of Spanish and bead of Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
