• A N ACT M A K I N G APPROPRIATIONS FOR T H E UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly: Section 1: There is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois for the two years beginning July I, 1935, and until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly, the sum of four million two hundred ninety-four thousand, four hundred fifty dollars ($4,294,450) per a n n u m ; payable as follows: Out of the University of Illinois Fund, two million, two hundred eighty-nine thousand, four hundred fifty dollars ($2,289,450) per a n n u m ; out of the General Revenue Fund, two million, five thousand dollars ($2,005,000) per a n n u m ; for the following objects and purposes: For salaries and wages $3 For office expenses, including printing and publications For travel For operations For repairs, equipment, and minor improvements including special assessments Total 526 000 per annum 75 000 per annum 15 000 per annum 350 000 per annum 328 450 per annum

Sec. 2. T h e r e is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois for the two years beginning July 1, 1935, and until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly the sum of four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) payable out of the University of Illinois Fund for the following objects and purposes: For an addition to the book stacks of the University Library and equipment $350 000 For an addition to the Mining Laboratory and equipment 50 000 Sec. 3. The appropriations made in sections I and 2 of this Act shall be subject to all the provisions, conditions, and limitations of an Act entitled, "An Act in relation to State finance," approved June 10, 1919, in force July 1, 1919. Sec. 4. There is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois for the two years beginning July 1, 1935, and until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next General Assembly, for the payment of interest on the endowment funds of said University as provided by section 2 of an Act entitled, "An Act to make appropriations for the University of Illinois, and providing for the management of the funds of said University and for the protecting of the interest of the State in connection therewith," approved and in force June 11, 1897, the sum of thirty-two thousand four hundred fifty-one dollars ($32,451) per annum, or so much thereof as may be necessary under the terms of said Act. Sec. 5. There is hereby appropriated to the University of Illinois the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) per annum, or so much thereof as shall accrue to the State of Illinois under the provisions of an Act of Congress entitled, "An Act to apply a portion of the proceeds of the public lands to the more complete endowment and support of the colleges for the benefit of agriculture and the mechanical arts, established under the provisions of an Act of Congress, approved July 2, 1862," approved August 30, 1890, and an Act of Congress entitled "An Act making appropriations for the Department of Agriculture for
