Company, to the Architectural Library. The edition was printed by Mr. Graham for private circulation and was limited to 300 copies. Pyle National Company, a new turbo-generator locomotive headlight of modern design, in exchange for an old one presented by the company some time ago, for the use of the Department of Railway Engineering. The value of the new unit is approximately $200. Standard Brands Incorporated, funds for continuation of research work previously supported by this company as follows: $2,250 representing half of a grant of $5,500 to Dr. Lloyd Arnold for his work on antiseptic properties of the skin; and $600 representing one-half of a $1,200 grant to Dr. Olaf Bergeim for his "Study of Effect of Yeast on Digestive Tract."

REPORT OF PURCHASES (14) The following report of purchases authorized by the President since the iast report: From the Nelsen Concrete Culvert Company, concrete sewer pipe for storm-water drainage on Gregory Drive and Goodwin Avenue at a total cost of $1,316.37. This company makes the pipe in Champaign, and it may be inspected by our representative during manufacture to insure satisfactory pipe. This report was received for record. BABBITT PATENT

(16) A statement concerning a discovery by Professor H. E. Babbitt, made during an investigation of the handling of sewage. O n motion of Mr. Trees, Professor Babbitt was authorized to apply for a patent on this discovery, to be assigned to the University.

RADIO STATION

(17) A report that the Federal Radio Commission has granted the request of the University for permission to operate on day-time schedule with a power of 1,000 watts.

On motion of Mr. Williams, this report was received for record, and the special committee appointed on October 13 to have charge of this matter was discharged.
