APPOINTMENT O F PROFESSOR R. D. CARMICHAEL AS ACTING DEAN OF T H E GRADUATE SCHOOL

(10) A recommendation that Professor R. D. Carmichael, Head of the Department of Mathematics, be appointed Acting Dean of the Graduate School, effective when Dean A. H. Daniels becomes Acting President of the University, and continuing until September 1, 1934, at a salary rate of $7,660 a year, or a basic salary, before applying the two salary reductions adopted by the Board, of

On motion of Dr. Meyer, this appointment was made.

CHANGE IN STATUS O F DEAN M. S. KETCHUM

(11) A request from Dean M. S. Ketchum that on account of his health he be relieved of his duties as Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Engineering Experiment Station, effective September 1, 1933, and that he be given a professorship in civil engineering, the conditions of appointment to be the same as those under which he has held his present position, and the conditions of service to be the same as those which govern other professorships in the University.

On motion of Mr. Barr, Dean Ketchum's resignation was accepted, effective September i, 1933. On motion of Mr. Barr, Dean Ketchum was appointed Research Professor of Civil Engineering at a salary of $7,000 a year, beginning September 1, 1933.

APPOINTMENT OF A R T H U R CUTTS WILLARD AS ACTING DEAN O F T H E COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

(12) A recommendation that Professor Arthur Cutts Willard, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, be appointed Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Acting Director of the Engineering Experiment Station, for one year beginning September 1, 1933, at a salary of $7,660, based on the original rate of $9,000. O n motion of M r . Williams, this appointment was made.

APPOINTMENT O F ACTING HEAD O F DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE

(13) A recommendation that Dr. R. W. Keeton, Professor of Internal Medicine in the College of Medicine, be continued as Acting Head of the Department of Internal Medicine for the academic year 1933-34 at a total salary rate of $3,925 a year, based upon his original salary of $3,500 plus $1,000 of the basic amount provided for the headship of the department and reduced according to the two reductions adopted by the Board. On motion of D r . Meyer, this appointment w a s made.

APPOINTMENTS TO COLLEGE O F MEDICINE CLINICAL FACULTY

(14) A recommendation that the following appointments be made to the clinical faculty of the College of Medicine for the academic year beginning September 1, 1933, and that the Acting President of the University be authorized to make such changes in this list as may be necessary: Department of Anatomy
