This recommendation is based on quotations secured from the General Electric Supply Corporation, the Holophane Company ($3226.06) and the Goodrich Electric Company ($1719.65). The latter is designed primarily for industrial or factory use and does not have the efficiency of the other two types. I concur in the recommendation. O n motion of M r s . E v a n s , this purchase w a s authorized as recommended.

CONTRACT FOR HARDWARE IN WOMAN'S GYMNASIUM

(9) The Supervising Architect submits the following schedule of bids received for the finish hardware on the Woman's Gymnasium: Holder Hardware Co. (Bloomington) $2 141 Sargent & Co. (Chicago) 2 195 Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. (Chicago) 2 400 He recommends that the contract be awarded to the Holder Hardware Company on their quotation of $2,141.00, the cost to be paid from the appropriation for this building. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this contract w a s a w a r d e d to the Holder H a r d w a r e C o m p a n y , the lowest bidder, as r e c o m m e n d e d .

(11) The Supervising Architect submits the following bids received for the ducts for carrying pre-heated air from the air heaters to the stokers in connection with the forced draft stoker installation under two boilers in the Boiler House Addition: Harry Derrough, Champaign $2 785 Industrial Roofing Contractors, Mattoon 3 150 He recommends that the contract be awarded to Harry Derrough on the basis of hisfigureof $2,785.00. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of M r s . E v a n s , this contract w a s a w a r d e d to H a r r y Derrough, as r e c o m m e n d e d . REMOVAL. OF NOYES HOUSE ON NEVADA STREET FROM PROPOSED RESIDENCE H A L L SITE (12) The Supervising Architect recommends that the Noyes House on Nevada Street, which stands on the site of the proposed new Residence Hall, be moved to the area at the northeast corner of the forestry. In that location it could be used as another cooperative house or a nurses' home. The cost of moving this house and putting it into livable condition will be about $7,000.
