SOCIETIES AND CLUBS Meetings are held on the second Monday of

FRENCH CLUB

Le Cercle Frangais includes students who have had at least one year's work in French. The club meets once a month throughout the year. Its proceedings are conducted in French, the object being to supplement the work of the class room by the practical handling and understanding of the language.

THE LATIN CLUB

This is an organization for the purpose of promoting interest in the language and institutions of the Roman world. It meets once in two weeks.

LIBRARY CLUB

The instructors and students of the Library School have organized a Library Club. Any member of the staff of the University library, of the Champaign public library, or of the Urbana public library, or any student who is registered for the Library School may become an active member. Trustees of the three libraries before mentioned are considered honorary members. Any others interested in library progress may become associate members. Meetings are held once in three weeks during the college year. The first and last meetings of the year are of a social nature. The intervening meetings are devoted to topics of literary or technical library interest.

MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SOCIETY

This club meets on the first and third Saturday evenings of each month. All students pursuing mechanical and electrical engineering studies are eligible to membership. Papers relating to subjects of interest to members are presented and discussed at each meeting.
