UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

1. The degree of Bachelor of Arts is conferred on those who complete a course in the College of Literature and Arts. 2. The degree of Bachelor of Science is given to those who complete a course in the College of Engineering, of Science, or of Agriculture. The name of the course will be inserted in the diploma. 3. The degree of Bachelor of Law is conferred on those who complete the course in the School of Law. 4. The degree of Doctor of Medicine is conferred on those who complete the course in the School of Medicine. 5. The degree of Bachelor of Library Science is conferred on those who complete the course in the School of Library Science. 6. The degree of Bachelor of Music is conferred on those who complete one of the courses in the School of Music. 7. The degree of Graduate in Pharmacy is conferred upon those who have satisfied the requirements therefor in the School of Pharmacy. ADVANCED DEGREES No degrees are given for study in absentia, except that graduates of this University, who become members of the Graduate School and reside elsewhere, may receive a second degree, upon the completion of their courses of study within not less than three years of the date of registration. For a graduate of this University who has won recognized distinction in a special line of investigation, and who otherwise fulfils the conditions for a doctor's degree, the requirement of residence for that degree will be such as may be imposed by the General Faculty of the University, on presentation of the case by the Council of Administration. Advanced degrees are conferred by the Trustees of the University only upon recommendation of the General Faculty, based upon information furnished by the Council of Administration.
