College of Natural Science. 57 students in pharmacy; a private laboratory for instructors; a gas analysis room, entirely cut off from the system of heating and ventilating to avoid undue fluctuations of temperature, furnished with a table specially constructed, and containing a full set of Bunsen's gasometric apparatus, a coil, battery, mercury, etc.; and a store room with apparatus for all kinds of work in quantitative analysis. The apparatus for general use includes a large platinum retort for the preparation of hydrofluoric acid; a Dove's polarizer, with a complete suit of accompanying apparatus; a Geissler's mercurial air pump; Hoffman's apparatus for illustrating the composition of compound gases; a Soliel-Scheibler's saccharimeter; an excellent set of areometers; a Hauy's goniometer; a camera with Ross' lenses; a Ruhmkorff's coil; galvanic batteries of Grove and Bunsen; also a potassium dichromate battery, a galvanometer, a spectroscope, and a large binocular microscope; a Hartnack microscope; a gas combustion furnace for organic analysis, etc. On the mansard floor ample provision has been made for the study of Photography.
