PURCHASE OF ROSELAWN C E M E T E R Y (8) A recommendation that Roselawn Cemetery be purchased at the price of $22,000, provided that a satisfactory title can be conveyed, and that an appropriation of $23,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent fund to meet the purchase price and the expense involved. Noble, M r . Simpson, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r . E m m e r s o n , M r . Fisher, M r s . Grigsby. BONO OF O'NEILL. CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Mr. Trees presented for the Finance Committee a recommendation that the surety bond of the O'Neill Construction Company covering their contract for the Medical and Dental College Laboratories, guaranteed by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company and the Standard Accident Insurance Company (amount $811,836), be accepted, subject to the approval of the Legal Counsel as to form. O n motion of M r . Simpson, this recommendation was adopted. COMMITTEE ON INTRODUCTION OF PRESIDENT CHASE O n motion of M r . Armstrong, the President of the Board was instructed to appoint a committee of three members of the Board (of which President Barr should be Chairman) to act for the Board in all matters pertaining to the introduction of President Chase to the public. President Barr appointed M r . Trees and Mr. Armstrong to act with him on this committee. OPTION ON BUS WELL PROCESS O n recommendation of Mr. Armstrong, for the Committee on Patents, and on motion of Dr. Noble, the option issued to M r . F. N . Bard for the use of the Buswell process of cellulose digestion was extended for 60 days. REPORT O F AUDIT O n motion of Mr. Trees, the following report of Arthur Young & Company of their audit of the accounts of the University was accepted. May 2, 1930 Board of Trustees, University of Illinois Dear Sirs: W e have audited the books of the University of Illinois for the quarter ended March 31, 1930, and submit the following brief summary of the work done and the result of the audit. The Cash Receipts have been verified by checking all cash receipts vouchers into the cash book and examining a substantial portion of the original departmental records. Cash received as recorded has been duly deposited with the University Treasurer. The warrants drawn on the University Treasurer and those certified to the State Auditor have been checked into the cash book and a substantial portion of the supporting vouchers has been examined with respect to authorization, object of expenditure and receipt of goods or services by the University. The footings of the cash book have been proved. The Cash Balance in the hands of the University Treasurer as at March 31, 1930, together with the Securities in his custody, as shown by the books of account, have been verified by actual inspection and confirmation from the depository. Cash on hand has been verified by actual count.
