The Supervising Architect recommends that this history be published. An edition of 2,000 copies will cost approximately $2,160. H e also recommends that Professor O'Donnell, who devoted a considerable amount of his own time to writing the history, be allowed $800 for his services, plus $37.50 for the expense of typing, materials, etc. I concur in these recommendations, and recommend further that an appropriation of $3,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for the payment of $837.50 to Professor O'Donnell for expenses and services, the balance, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be used for the publication of an edition of 2,000 copies of the history, to be sold at such price as the Comptroller and President may determine, allowance of complimentary copies to be determined by the President. APPROPRIATION FROM EXCESS HORTICULTURAL RECEIPTS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HORTICULTURE

(25) Dean Mumford and Professor Blair recommend that $850, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated from excess horticultural receipts for the year ended June 30, 1929, for the expense of overhauling the central and north storage machines in the Horticulture Field Laboratory.
