I report that I have given these young women their diplomas as of June, 1928, and request that this be made a matter of record. This report w a s received for record. PURCHASE OF MEYERS PROPERTY (26) The Comptroller reports that pursuant to the action of the Board on if ay 23, 1928 (Minutes, page 603), and on approval by the Legal Counsel of all documents, he has concluded the purchase of Lot 51 in College Place, Champaign (the G. H. Meyers property), at a purchase price of $12,500. As the purchase was concluded subsequent to April 1, 1928, the University will be required to pay the general taxes for 1928 on this property, payable in 1929, amounting to approximately $100. This report w a s received for record. GIFTS TO THE UNIVERSITY (27) The following gifts have been offered the University, and I have authorized their acceptance: 1. From the Eli Lilly & Company of Indianapolis, Indiana, manufacturers of pharmaceutical and biological products, a fellowship amounting to $1,800 a year for a study of allergy to secure information about such diseases as hay fever, asthma, sensitization of various proteins, etc. 2. From the Chemical Foundation, the additional sum of $1,000 for the continuance of the work in sewage research, along the lines of previous gifts of similar amounts, received each year since 1925. 3. From E. I. DuPont de Nemours & Company of Wilmington, Delaware, the sum of $750 for the renewal of the DuPont Fellowship in Chemistry. 4. From Mr. Leon Lundmark, Chicago artist, an oil painting, "The Open Sea." This picture is 34" by 46" in size and is well framed. 5. From Mr. James M . Cowan of Aurora, Illinois, another painting, this one by Edgar Payne, valued at $450. Mr. Cowan presented the University with a painting by Charles C. Curran, N. A., "The Hilltops," in the spring. 6. From the Dempster Mill Manufacturing Company of Beatrice, Nebraska, a self-heating hog waterer for the use of the Agricultural Experiment Station. 7. From Mr. Albert Penn, President of the Penn Electric Switch Company of Dcs Moines, Iowa, two Pemi Magnet Switches, valued at $20. This report w a s received for record. REPORT ON E. A. WALLACE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND (28) The following report from the Comptroller on the E. A.
