Board made an award of hospital, doctor's, and nurse's bills and funeral expenses. In the present case, one eye was seriously damaged and the sight considerably impaired. The Committee recommended that the medical and hospital bills incurred by Mr. Mitchell, aggregating $308.30, be paid by the University. I now renew this recommendation, and further recommend the payment of a proper sum as compensation for the impairing of the vision of one eye. O n motion of M r . Barr, this report was received for record, the policy of extending compensation for accidents to certain m e m bers of the faculty was adopted as recommended, and the President of the University was instructed to determine a proper sum to be awarded to M r . Mitchell. C. P. A. McGUlGAN (16) On recommendation of Dean Davis, I recommend that Dr. H. A. McGuigan, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, be given a sabbatical leave of absence on one-half pay during the year 1928-29, with the provision that he may return to his duties at the end of the f r t semester, or sometime thereafter, full pay to begin the date is of his return, subject to the approval of the President. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this leave was granted. APPOINTMENT TO FLORICULTURAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (17) O n recommendation of Dean Mumford, I recommend that Mr. J. W . Ross of Centralia be appointed a member of the Floricultural Advisory Committee for the rest of the present year and the year 1928-29 to fl the il vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Hans Jepsen. O n motion of Mrs. Busey, this appointment was made.
