(5) Dean Davis informs m e that there is at the Medical School a group of pictures of graduating classes, one for each class, dating back many years. They have become so numerous that i is difficult tofindwall space for them. t H e suggests that these pictures be reduced to a uniform size and placed in the Library on exhibition. H e states that the expense would be about $200 and asks an appropriation for this purpose. After considering the matter carefully, I a m of the opinion that the preservation of these pictures is a matter of historical interest and importance to the University College of Medicine, and, therefore, recommend an appropriation of $200 from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for the above purpose. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this appropriation w a s made, by the following vote: A y e , M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r s . Ickes, Dr. Noble, M r . SPECIAL APPROPRIATION TO COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY (6) Dean Noyes requests a special appropriation of $600 as an incidental fund for publicity purposes. I recommend the appropriation from the Reserve and Contingent Fund. O n motion of M r . Barr, this appropriation w a s made, by the following vote: A y e , M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, M r s . APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY (7) O n request of Dean Mumford, I recommend that the sum of $264.85, being the excess of receipts over the estimated income of the Department of Agronomy for last year, be appropriated to the Department for crop production research. APPROPRIATION FOR AGRICULTURAL PUBLICATIONS (8) O n request of Dean Mumford, I recommend that the balance of $275.32, carried forward July 1, 1926, and the sum of $962.83 carried forward July 1, 1027, representing excess receipts over the estimated receipts of the Department of Horticulture, be appropriated for the following purposes: Florists' Insect Handbook. Estimated 72 pp. 116 half tones. Edition of 10,000 copies $850 Soil Treatments in a Bearing Apple Orchard. Estimated 28 pp. Edition of 10,000 copies 325 Fulsarium Wilt of Tomatoes. Estimated 36 pp. 14 cuts. Edition of 10,000 copies 375 Fertilizer Experiments with Truck Crops in Southern Illinois. Estimated 12 pp. Edition of 10,000 copies 160
