REPORT OF FIRE ON NORTH CARTER-PENNELL TRUST FARM (43) Dean Mumford makes the following report on a fire which occurred on the north Carter-Pennell Trust farm, at Rankin, on M a y 17: September 22, 1927 President David Kinley, University of Illinois Dear President Kinley: A brooder house on the north Carter-Pennell trust farm at Rankin, Illinois, caught onfireabout eight o'clock on the morning of M a y 17,1927, and serious damage resulted. T h efirewas put out and the building was not a total loss. T h e matter was reported by telephone to M r . Ingalls of the Business Office and settlement arranged with the Aetna Fire Insurance Company on the basis of $100 damage which seemed adequate. W e contemplate making such repairs as are necessary in order to make the brooder house usable, but not to restore it to its former condition. Very truly yours,
