RESCINDING OF DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO COMMITTEE ON ACCOUNTANCY TO HEAR COMPLAINTS

(12) Owing to a misunderstanding, the following delegation of authority to the Committee on Accountancy to hear complaints and revoke certificates was granted by the Board October 20, 1926 (page 14.2): "I recommend that the Board of Trustees delegate to the University Committee on Accountancy authority to hear complaints and investigate charges of unprofessional and unethical conduct on the part of certified public accountants holding the Illinois certificate, and to take action on each case, certifying its decision to the Board of Trustees for final action." 1 request that this action be rescinded. PETTY CASH FUND OF BUSINESS MANAGER OF CHICAGO DEPARTMENTS

(13) T h e Comptroller requests authority to increase the petty cash fund in the office of the Business Manager of the Chicago Departments by #500, making the total £1,500. I concur in this request. O n m o t i o n of M r . A r m s t r o n g , this authority w a s granted.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO THE COLLEGE OF LAW AND DISCONTINUANCE OF FOUR-YEAR CURRICULUM IN LAW

(14) Pursuant to the authority given m e by the Board, March 8, 1927 (page 22223), 1 report that I have approved the new requirements for admission to the College of Law, to become effective January 1, 1929; and also the proposal to abolish the four-year curriculum in law, this action to become effective September I, 1927. T h i s report w a s received for record. PROFESSIONAL DEGREES IN ENGINEERING (15) Al the meeting of March 8, 1927 (page 223), the recommendations of the University Senate for certain modifications in the present regulations governing professional degrees in engineering were referred to the President for investigation and report. I now recommend that these changes be approved and printed:

SECOND DEGREES IN ENGINEERING

T w o classes of second degrees (academic and professional) are open to graduates of the College of Engineering. The academic second degree in engineering is Master of Science, following Bachelor of Science, in architecture, architectural engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, etc. This degree is conferred in accordance with the regulations described above for academic work in residence only. The professional second degrees in engineering are as follows: Master of Architecture, after B.S. in architecture. Architectural Engineer, after B.S. in architectural engineering. Ceramic Engineer, after B.S. in ceramic engineering. Civil Engineer, after B.S. in civil engineering or in railway civil engineering. Electrical Engineer, after B.S. in electrical engineering or in railway electrical engineering. Mechanical Engineer, after B.S. in mechanical engineering or in railway mechanical engineering. Engineer of Mines, after B.S. in mining engineering.
