Farm on land broken from pasture yielded about 60 bushels per acre. O n the South Farm about twelve acres of corn following clover seeding yielded about 40 bushels per acre. Another small field of corn following meadow, yielded about 6$ bushels per acre. These yields are in contrast to an average yield of not over 30 bushels per acre on the land which had not been improved. For the year 1926, 39 acres of corn on the North Farm will follow land which has been pastured last year or the previous year. O n the South Faim, fifteenacres of corn will follow c o m on land which has grown clover the previous year. Thirty acres will follow clover land which was pastured in 1925. It is m y belief that 35 bushels to the acre was about the limit of corn yield on any of the land at the time that w e took over the farms, unless the land had been in pasture. Since all of the pasture land was permanent pasture, I believe that the farms are ready to show much improvement in crop production. Since w e have taken over the farms, the yield of oats has not exceeded over 25 bushels per acre. It would seem safe to turn over to the Student Loan Fund at least £500.00, even anticipating the improvement which m a y be put on the house on the South Farm.
