APPROPRIATION FOR COOK COUNTY EXPERIMENT STATION (14.) Dean Mumford recommends that the r c i t from the s l of produce from eeps ae the Cook County Experiment Station, amounting on December 31 l s to $1176.21, at be appropriated to the Cook County Experiment Station for labor in connection with the greenhouses. Accordingly I recommend that the sum of $1200, or so much thereof as may come from the sale of produce from the Cook County Experiment Station, be appropriated for this purpose. O n motion of M r s . Harris of the College o Education d e on sitn rfso f id December 17, 1925. H e was in his second year of service. Under the Retiring Allowances and Death Benefits System, Assistant Professor Harris' estate is entitled to 1 0 % of the cash portion of his annual compensation, amounting to $350. I therefore recommend that an appropriation of $350 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose and that the Comptroller be authorized to pay this amount to the legal representatives of Professor Harris. (16) I have a telegram from California stating that Mrs. Mary S. Snyder died on Thursday, January 7. I a m making inquiry as to the expenses of the funeral arrangements and ask your authority to see that every proper expenditure connected with the burial of Mrs. Snyder is met out of the income of the Snyder fund, which she has been receiving for several years. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this expenditure w a s authorized.
