EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS The Secretary presented for record minutes of meetings of the Executive Committee held on September 16 and October 13, 1925. W . L. Noble, Chairman Mart E. Busey Merle J. Trees MEETING OF OCTOBER 13, 1925 The Executive Committee met i Chicago on Tuesday, October 13, 1925. n Present, Dr. W . L. Noble, M r . Merle J. Trees, and Professor J. M . White, Supervising Architect. President Kinley reported his inability to be present but transmitted to the Committee the Supervising Architect's recommendations on the award of contracts for the setting of the two new boilers in the Boiler House and for a storm water sewer from Sixth and Armory Streets south and east a distance of about 1100 feet. The bids and recommendations were as follows: For the setting of the two new boilers: National Power Construction Co., Chicago $3,675.00 John Bennett, Urbana 3,870.00 Geo. Allen & Sons, Chicago 3,987.00 Nelson & Sons Co., Chicago 4,000.00 A. J. Bolan, St. Louis 4,250.00 English Brothers, Champaign 4,895.00 The Supervising Architect's recommendation was that the award be made to the low bidder, the National Power Construction Company, at their bid of $3,675. For the storm water sewer from Sixth and Armory Streets south and east a distance of about 1100 feet: Christensen Brothers, Urbana $2,100.00 English Brothers, Champaign 4,868.00 The Supervising Architect recommended that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Christensen Brothers Company, on the basis of their bid of $2,100. The Supervising Architect reported that the following bids had been received on the general contract for the enclosing of the bookstacks in the second unit of the Library buildings: Bidder Bid Alternate N o . 1 Alternate N o . 2 A. W . Stoolman $78487 —$2,500 —$2,100 English Brothers 94,456 —4,800 —3,913 Otto Randolph, Inc 133,195 — 3,815 — 2,010 The Supervising Architect recommended that the contract be awarded to A. W . Stoolman, the low bidder, on the basis of his bid of $78,487, and also that M r . Stoolman be allowed an extra of $2,950 on his contract to cover an error in his bid due to an item of $1,475 having been deducted instead of added. M r . White reported that these recommendations had all been presented to Mrs. Busey and that she had concurred in the recommendations.
