E X E C U T I V E C O M M I T T E E M E E T I N G , F E B R U A R Y 17, 1925 A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the University, in Urbana, at 2 p. m . on Tuesday, February 17, 1925. M r s . Evans was present; also President Kinley, M r . G. E. Wright, Assistant Supervising Architect, and representatives of the bidders on the plumbing and electric wiring for the West Residence Hall. Mrs. Evans presided. President Kinley announced that the Chairman of the Executive Committee was unable to be present, and stated that it would be necessary to record the bids and communicate them to the Chairman by telephone, and get his vote, and asked whether there was any objection to this procedure. N o objection was raised. Bids were opened as follows: PLUMBING Bidders Bid 1. J. L. Brady Co £23,850 2. Carson-Payson Co 22,867 3. Dooley & Bruninga 25,278 4. Hayes Brothers 27,183 5. Andrae Electric Co $ 5,290 2. Dorsch Electric Co 6,385 3. Ideal Electric Constr. Co 6,650 4. Marrs-Tanner Electric Co 4,265 5. Newberry Electric Co 5,875 T h e Secretary of the Board communicated the bids to Dr. W . L. Noble, Chairman, by long-distance telephone, and secured his vote for the award of the contract for plumbing for the West Residence Hall to the Carson-Payson Company, the lowest bidders, on the basis of their bid of $22,867 and f°r tne award of the contract for electric wiring for the West Residence Hall to the Marrs-Tanner Electric Company, the lowest bidders, on the basis of their bid of $4265, and Mrs. Evans concurring, declared the awards made accordingly. ELEVATOR CONTRACTS President Kinley presented the following communication, and recommended that contracts be awarded accordingly.
