EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING, JANUARY 24, 1925 A meeting of the Executive Committee was held at the Chicago Athletic Association at one p. m., Saturday, January 24, to take action on the purchase of land for the Cook County Experiment Station in accordance with the authority given the Committee by action of the Board on December 13, 1924 (See minutes, December 13, 1924, pages 135-6). There were present a l three members of the Committee— l President W . L. Noble, Mrs. Laura B. Evans, and M r . Merle J. Trees. In addition, Mr. J. W . Armstrong, a member of the Board, was present, and Professors Blair and Lloyd of the University. It was moved and unanimously carried that we purchase for a truck garden experimental farm, at a price not to exceed $800 an acre, the twenty (20) acres of land owned by Louis W . Nebel, being the south half of the west forty (40) acres of the northwest quarter of Section 29, Township 41 North, Range 12, East of 3 P. M., (Maine Township), Cook County, Illinois. The Executive Committee on January 28, 1925, pursuant to acti of the Board on December 13, 1924 (minutes, page 129), authorized the Supervising Architect to award the contract for roofing the West Residence Hall to the lowest responsible bidder, the Twin City Roofing Company, on the basis of their bid of #5985 (minutes, November 15, 1924, page 115).
