(3) The proposed Policy on Conflicts of Commitment and Interest was written by a faculty committee from the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses. It will replace the current document that has been in effect since 1988. The impetus for this new policy was largely due to new Federal regulations that took effect October 1, 1995. Upon approval of the Board of Trustees, this policy will be implemented at the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses. Since the UIS faculty are organized under a collective bargaining agreement, this Policy on Conflicts of Commitment and Interest will not cover the Springfield campus at this time. This proposed policy has been approved by the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign Senates and by the University Senates Conference. The vice president for academic affairs recommends approval. I concur.

On motion of Dr. Gindorf, this recommendation was approved. University of Illinois Policy on Conflicts of Commitment and Interest Table of Contents
