The $2,600,500 project consists of an expansion of the existing surgery area with an addition of approximately 7,500 gross square feet to the third floor over an existing second floor roof area on the north side of the University of Illinois Hospital. Major areas to be included are new surgery rooms, nurses' station/doctor charting, pre-op and post-op staff offices, and support areas. Funds are available from the University of Illinois Hospital Income Fund. A schedule of the bids received and a description of the alternate have been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

Contract, Repair Masonry, Paulina Street Parking Structure, Chicago

(23) The president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends the award of a contract for $552,972 to Joseph Construction, Lynwood, the lowest responsible bidder, on the basis of its base bid plus acceptance of alternates one, two, and three, for the replacement of masonry on the Paulina Street Parking Structure at the Chicago campus. The proposed $668,700 project includes the removal and replacement of the spalling brick veneer and brick paving, repairs to the perimeter steel screen wall, planters, caulking, flashing on the stair towers, and the installation of new precast concrete benches on the sidewalk to replace the existing wooden benches. Funds are available from the Restricted Funds Operating Budget of the Campus Parking Office. A schedule of the bids received and a description of the alternates have been filed with the secretary of the board for record.
