On motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation was approved. The appropriation was made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Trimble; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Noble, Mr. Small.

H E A T S E R V I C E FOR Y. M. C. A. H U T (11) A request from Professor Parr for permission to extend University Heating Service to the Y. M. C. A. Hut. I request that authority be given me to authorize the extension at the expense of the Y. M. C. A., the service to be granted on the same terms as those extended to the University Clubs and the Y. W. C. A., and the whole expense of making the extension to be borne by the Y. M. C. A.

On motion of Mr. Trimble, this matter was referred to the President of the University with power to act.

CURRICULUM I N P U B L I C SCHOOL. MUSIC (12) The Senate recommends that a four-year curriculum in Public School Music be offered; that during the last two years of the curriculum the students be registered in the College of Education, and that on the completion of the curriculum the candidates receive the degree of Bachelor of Science in Music Education.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, this curriculum was authorized and the recommendations of the University Senate were approved.

P A T E N T S O N I N V E N T I O N S A N D DISCOVERIES (13) A recommendation that $2,000 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to defray the expenses of securing patents on inventions and discoveries.

On motion of Mr. Trimble, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Trimble; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Noble, Mr. Small.

I M P R O V E M E N T OF BURRILL A V E N U E

(14) A recommendation that Burrill Avenue be paved with a concrete or asphalt walk colored so as to make it quite dark, heavy enough to bear automobile traffic for parades or processions, to be 1200 feet long from University Hall to the line of a walk east and west on the line of Armory Avenue; that an eight foot walk be put across the campus on the line of Armory Avenue from Wright Street to the walk at the south entrance to the Music Building; that the service drive to the Administration Building be extended east to Burrill Avenue to serve as a service drive to the south side of University Hall; that the drive east of the Auditorium be continued south of the Auditorium to connect with the drive from Wright Street, and with Matthews Avenue on the East, and a spur extended therefrom to the south-west entrance of the Music Building and that the Supervising Architect be directed to meet the expense from his appropriation for next year for Physical Plant Extension.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, these recommendations were concurred in.
