Dean Davenport made a statement concerning the plans and location of the new Agriculture building. At this point, at 12:45 p. m., a recess was taken. AFTERNOON SESSION, AUGUST 1, 1921 The same persons were present as during the morning session. On motion of Mr. Abbott, Mr. Trimble was appointed chairman.

NEW AGRICULTURE BUILDING

The Board continued its discussion of the plans and location of the new building for the College of Agriculture. On motion of Dr. Noble, the President of the University was directed to have a study made by the Supervising Architect and the College of Agriculture to ascertain what should be the general policy as to the location of the Agriculture Building, plans and type of structure, and what proportion of the entire building should be completed now, and to make a report to the Board.

(27) The budget of the University for the year beginning July 1, 1921, with a recommendation that the budget be approved and that the President of the University be given authority to make minor adjustments wherever necessary, to correct errors, to accept resignations, and to make such appointments to the University staff as may be necessary, and to report such action to the Board at the next meeting.

On motion of Mr. Abbott, these requests were granted and the budget was approved, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Noble, Mr. Trimble; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Small.

Explanatory Note Departmental appropriations are made under the captions "Salaries" and "Expense and Equipment" unless otherwise indicated. No transfers may be made between these appropriation captions except with the approval of the President of the University. Appropriations for Expense and Equipment in departments of colleges are made as a tentative distribution subject to adjustment by the Dean of the College within the total for the college. The Dean shall indicate at the opening of the year the preliminary assignments to departments, and make such further adjustments during the year as necessary.
