A C A D E M I C RANK OF MILITARY OFFICERS (50) A recommendation that officers assigned to the University in the Military Department by the Federal Government shall receive academic rank as follows: The Commandant to be Professor of Military Science and Tactics, provided his Army rank is Major or above. If Majors are assigned as assistants to the Commandant, they shall rank as Associate Professors. If Captains are assigned, they shall rank as Assistant Professors. If a First Lieutenant is assigned, he shall rank as Associate. If a Second Lieutenant be assigned, he shall rank as Instructor.

This recommendation was approved.
