On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, these changes were approved, At this point, Miss Watson joined the meeting.

MERGING OF FUNDS IN TREASURER'S HANDS (23) A recommendation from Mr. H. S. Capron, Treasurer, approved by the Comptroller, that the Board of Trustees change its requirements that the Treasurer of the University shall keep the moneys of the University in his charge in separate funds, and instead shall direct that the "Treasurer of the University shall be accountable to the University for all moneys received by him and that he shall pay out such moneys only on the properly issued warrants of the University."

On motion of Mr. Hoit, this recommendation was approved.

EMERGENCY FUND (24) A statement that one of the University students who died recently was buried in the "Potters' Field for lack of money, and that several cases have occurred of the death of members of the faculty and students in which members of the faculty were called on to subscribe for the funeral expenses.

After full discussion, and on motion of Mr. Ward, an emergency fund of $500 was created to be at the disposal of the President of the University for the purpose of meeting such extraordinary expenses as seem to him fairly chargeable to such a fund. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Small, Mr. Trevett.
