APPOINTMENTS MADE BY PRESIDENT JAMES

The Secretary presented for record the following list of pointments made by the President of the University.

Arms, R. W., Instructor in Mining Engineering, at a salary of one hundred twenty dollars ($120) a month beginning when he reports for duty and continuing until July 1, 1918. (November 5, 1917*). Arneson, Mabel, Stenographer and clerk in the College of Medicine at a salary of eighty dollars ($8.0) a month, beginning November 1, 1917, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission; this appointment superseding her former appointment. (October 29, 1917). Baldwin, Edgar, Student Assistant in the School of Pharmacy, at a compensation of one hundred dollars ($100) for the academic year beginning October 1, 1917, and continuing to June 30, 1918. (October 29, 1917). Bard, Catharine A., University Stenographer, rank III, in the President's office, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month, beginning October 15, 1917, and continuing until further notice, subject to the regulations of the State Civil Service Commission. (November 2, 1917)tBayley, P. L., Instructor in Signalling and Radio in the School of Military Aeronautics, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month, beginning when he reports for duty and continuing until further notice. (November 5, 1917). Bruner, Arthur J., Director of the employment bureau, room registration, and student information bureau of the College of Medicine, at a salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) for the year, one-half to be paid at the end of each semester. (November 9, 1917). Culver, Harry, Instructor in Genito-Urinary Surgery in the College of Medicine, for one year beginning September 1, 1917, without salary, (October 31, 1917). Dawson, Estelle, Secretary in the College of Law, at a salary of eightyfive dollars ($85) a month, beginning October 10, 1917, and continuing until further notice, but in no case without reappointment beyond July 1, 1918. (November 2, 1917). Ekblaw, W. E., Research Fellow, at a salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) a month, for one year, beginning November 1, 1917. (November 8, 1917). Engel, Solton, Assistant in English, on full time, at a salary of one thousand dollars ($1000) a year, beginning October 26, 1917; this appointment superseding his previous appointment. (November 9, 1917). Ewald, Raymond, Assistant in the office of the Supervising Architect, at a salary of two hundred dollars ($200) a month, beginning when he reports for duty. (October 25, 1917). Fischer, A. H. R., Assistant in Military Science for ten months beginning September 1, 1917, at a salary of ten dollars ($10) a month. (November 2, 1.917).
