On motion of Mr. Carr, this recommendation was approved. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR G. M. WHIPPLE

(22) A recommendation that Professor Guy M. Whipple be given leave of absence""for the first semester of the next academic year without pay, to enable him to carry on certain important investigations at Pittsburgh in connection with the development of psychological tests.

On motion of Miss Watson, this recommendation was concurred in.

APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR D. S. HILL (2s) A recommendation from Dean K. C. Babcock that, to provide for the work of Professor Whipple, Mr. David Spence Hill be appointed Acting Professor of Education for the five months beginning September 1, 1917, at a salary of $300 a month.

On motion of Miss Watson, this recommendation was concurred in.

APPOINTMENT OF MR. J. A. STEVENSON (24) A recommendation from Dean K. C. Babcock that Mr. John A. Stevenson be appointed Lecturer in Education and Secretary of the Department for ten months beginning June 15, 19-17, at a salary of $2,100 for the ten months.

On motion of Miss Watson, this recommendation was- concurred in.

MR. T. G. DICKINSON APPOINTED TO CERAMICS BOARD (25) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Engineering that Mr. Theodore G. Dickinson, President of the Marquette Cement Manufacturing Company, Chicago, b e appointed a member of the Advisory Board for the Department of Ceramic Engineering.

On motion of Mr. Carr, this recommendation was approved.

PURCHASE OF MULTIGRAPH EQUIPMENT (26) A request from the Comptroller for authority to purchase a multigraph equipment to be placed in the Information Office for the use of the various departments of the University, at a cost of $1,000.
