BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[June 7,

On motion of Mr. Carr, the President of the University Was authorized to purchase this property at a price not to exceed $300 an acre. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Taggart, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Lowden, Mr. Trevett, Mr. Ward.

JUNIOR M I L I T A R Y TRAINING CAMP (11) A request from the Military Training Camps Association that the University conduct a junior military training camp at Urbana during the summer, from July 15 to September 15, or from July 1 to September 1.

On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, this matter was referred to the President of the University, with power to act.

COMMISSION FOR SALE OF SMITH FARMS (12) A letter from Mr. Howard Nash asking whether the commission for the sale of the Smith farms would be paid by the University or whether the University will quote a net price, with the understanding that the agent will add the commission to that price.

The President of the University was authorized to pay a commission of $2.00 an acre for the sale of these farms.

CHEMISTRY STORE ROOM (13) A letter from the Comptroller recommending the establishment of a central chemical store room which would permit the centralization of the buying and storekeeping for chemical and laboratory supplies.

On motion of Mr. Carr, the President of the University was authorized to approve such a plan.

APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR M. A. MfNER (14) A letter from President Thomas F. Holgate of Northwestern University proposing that the University of Illinois should appoint Professor Maurice A. Miner of the School of Pharmacy of Northwestern University to be professor of pharmacy in the University of Illinois for a period of two years, with no expectation that the appointment should be renewed or extended, and with a further understanding that Northwestern University would at the end of the two years grant to Professor Miner a retiring allowance of $000, more or less, from that time on, and that on these terms the Northwestern University would announce a consolidation of its School of Pharmacy with the School of Pharmacy of the University of Illinois.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, the President of the University was authorized to make such an arrangeLment.

SALTPETER INVESTIGATION (15) A letter from Dr. PL S. Grmdley, Professor of Animal Nutrition, concerning the progress of the Saltpeter Investigation.
