MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES -or T H E - UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS May 1, 1917 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 12 o'clock noon on Tuesday, May 1, 1917, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the Secretary on April 24, 1917. On the call of the President, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 12 o'clock noon, on Tuesday, May 1, 1917, to consider such matters as the committees of the Board and the President of the University may submit, and such other matters as, may be duly presented. When the Board convened the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Taggart, Miss Watson. President James was present. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of April 4, 1917. On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 271 to 289, above. PURCHASE AND STORAGE OF COAL The Secretary presented the following report from the special committee on the purchase and storage of coal, appointed on April 4, 1917 (Minutes, page 283) .
