cated in the second bill proposed, though it is not more than in my opinion ought to be spent on the engineering project.

On motion of Mr. H'oit, this plan was approved for presentation to the Legislature.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR FULTON (14) A request from Professor Edward Fulton of the Department of English for leave of absence for a few weeks on account of illness. This request is approved by Professor Frank W. Scott, acting head of the department, and by Dean K. C. Bibcock.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the President of the University was authorized to grant Professor Fulton leave of absence, on one-half pay, from February 1, 1917, until September 1, 1917.

L I V E STOCK ADVISORY COMMITTEE (15) Nomination for the Livestock Breeders' Association of men to be considered for membership in the Livestock Advisory Committee of the University. The following list has been submitted: Mr. L. E. Thomas, Golden; Mr. Charles Taylor, Williamsville, Mr. Dan Augustine, Carlock; Mr. C. S. Beggs, Ashland. The B'oard under its regulations is to choose one from this list.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the President of the University was authorized to make an appointment from this list.

INSURANCE ON MEDICAL AND DENTAL BUILDINGS (16) A letter from: the Comptroller relating to additional insurance for the Medical and Dental College buildings, stating that it is possible to secure a reduction of the rate for insurance 011 the Medical building from $1.80 to $1.00 a hundred, and on its contents from $1.-80 to $1.25, and on the Dental building from $2.25 to $1.25, and a new rate on the contents of the Dental building of $1.50. The insurance company appraises the value of the Medical building at $273,716.69, and of the Dental building at $120,393.* W e are now carrying an insurance of $215,000 on these ?buildings, and the premiums for 'five years cost «us $4,140. W e can now obtain a total insurance on these buildings and their contents of $415,000' at a total cost for five years of $4,790. W e could therefore, at the new rates, practically .double the insurance at an additional cost of $650 for a five-year period, counting the rebates which would be received on the premiums already paid if the insurance policies now in force were cancelled.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the President of the University was authorized to direct the taking out of additional insurance on the
