On motion of Mr. Carr, this land was accepted with thanks.

MISSISSIPPI VALLEY HISTORICAL REVIEW (28) A request from Professor Clarence W. Alvord for the continuance of the guarantee of $100 a year for another three years toward the support of the Mississippi Valley Historical Reviezv, which is edited by Professor Alvord. It is the opinion of our department of history that the Review is performing a valuable public service and that it is a distinct aid to the work of instruction and investigation at the University.

On motion of Mr. Ward, this guarantee of $100 was continued for the year 1917-18. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Taggart, Mr. Ward; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Lowden, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson.

SUMMER CAMP IN SURVEYING (30) A request from Dean W . F. M. Goss of the College of Engineering that the Trustees provide as soon as possible a location for a summer surveying camp. If we had such a camp, the necessity of which is very great, the College of Engineering would propose that, as a condition of graduation in civil engineering, there should be required eight weeks of compulsory attendance at the camp, the time being taken between the sophomore and junior years.

No action was taken in this matter.

RICKER LIBRARY OF ARCHITECTURE (31) A request from the College of Engineering, transmitted through the Dean, that the library in the department of architecture be called the Ricker Library of Architecture, in honor of Professor N . C. Ricker, who
