APPOINTMENTS TO FILL VACANCIES.

The Secretary presented for record the following list of appointments made by President James:

Banks, M. F., Assistant in General Engineering Drawing, at a salary of eighty dollars ($80) a month, beginning November 1, 1915, and continuing until June 30, 1916. (October 22, 1915.)* Barnes, Mary G., Assistant in the Seminar Libraries in Lincoln Hall, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month, beginning November 1, 1915, and continuing until August 31, 1916, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 22, 1915.) Bartling, C. H., Instructor in Medicine, for the academic year 1915-16, without salary. (October 21, 1915.) Beyer, O. S., First Assistant in Railway Engineering in the Engineering Experiment Station, with salary at the rate of one hundred sixty-six and two-thirds dollars ($166,66 2/3) a month, beginning when he reports for duty and continuing until August 31, 1916. (November 30, 1915.) Bles, V. A., Clinical Assistant in Neurology in the Dispensary, for the academic year 1915-16, without salary. (November 24, 1915.) Boyd, Emma, General Assistant in the Library, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month, beginning October 4, 1915, and continuing until August 4, 1916, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 16, 1915.) Coogan, Jane, Stenographer in the Department of Botany, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning October 25, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. Cor dell, Delia G., Binding Assistant in the Library, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month, beginning September 17, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. Devine, Jeanette, Stenographer in the Registrar's Office, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning November 8, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. French, Bertram, Catalog Assistant in the Library, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) 'a month, beginning September 17, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 16, 1915.) Geiger, C. F., Assistant in Ceramic Engineering, on one-half time, at a salary of forty dollars ($40) a month, beginning when he reports for duty and continuing until June 30, 1916. (November 10, 1915.) Gift, L. H., Assistant Chief of the Division of Military Information, at a salary of four dollars ($4) a month, for eight months, beginning October 1, 1915. (October 20, 1915.) Hammitt, Susan, Stenographer in the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at a. salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning September 22, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 22, 1915.) Hengstenberg, P. M., Technician in the College of Medicine, for nine months beginning October 1, 1915, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month. (October 22, 1915.) Hughes, Mary, Library Clerk in the College of Medicine, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning September 1, 1915, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission.
