Meeting of the Executive Committee, June IS, 1915.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the University, in Urbana, on Tuesday, June 15, 1915, immediately following the adjournment of the meeting of the board on the same date. All the members of the Executive Committee, namely, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Carr, and Mr. Hoit, were present; also Mrs. Evans, Mr. Ward, and Miss Watson, members of the board. President James and Prof. J. M. White were present.

BIDS ON NEW BUILDINGS.

The Executive Committee took up the discussion of the bids on the Ceramics and Vivarium Buildings.

CERAMICS BUILDING.

On motion of Mr. Hoit the recommendation of Prof. White was concurred in and the bid of Mr. A. W. Stoolman, the low bidder, was accepted and the general contract was awarded to Mr. Stoolman for $78,530; the contract to provide for a bonus or penalty of $30 a day for completion before or delay beyond the term of 8 months, with a maximum bonus or penalty of $1,800.

HEATING, PLUMBING, A N D WIRING, CERAMICS BUILDING.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the contracts for heating, plumbing, and wiring for the Ceramics Building were awarded to the low bidders in each case, as follows: Heating contract, New York Blower Company, $8,629; plumbing, Daily & O'Brien, $2,875; wiring, Hatfield Electric Company, $2,534.

TILE ROOF, TERRA COTTA, FACE BRICK, ETC.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the Supervising Architect was authorized to place contracts for tile roof, terra cotta, face brick, mechanical equipment, furniture, etc., for the Ceramics Building within the amounts contained in the schedule on page 3 of the Supervising Architect's recommendations.

GENERAL APPROPRIATION, CERAMICS BUILDING.

On motion of Mr. Carr, the sum of one hundred twenty-eight thousand dollars ($128,000) was appropriated for the construction and equipment of the*Ceramics Building.

V I V A R I U M BUILDING,

On motion of Mr. Carr, the recommendation of the Supervising Architect was concurred in and the general contract for the Vivarium Building was awarded to Mr. A. W. Stoolman, the low bidder, on the basis of completion in five months, for $28,952; the contract to contain a clause providing a bonus or penalty of $10 a day with a maximum of $300.

HEATING, PLUMBING, AND WIRING, VIVARIUM.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the contracts for heating, plumbing, and wiring for the Vivarium Building were awarded to the low bidders in each case, as follows: Heating, Daily & O'Brien, $2,850; plumbing, Reliable Plumbing and Heating Co., $1,510; wiring, Lake City Electric Company, $671.

GREENHOUSES AND E X P E R I M E N T A L EQUIPMENT, VIVARIUM.

On motion of Mr. Carr, the Supervising Architect was authorized to award contracts for greenhouses, experimental wiring, and experimental plumbing for the Vivarium within the amounts provided in the schedule on page 4 of the Supervising Architect's recommendations.

GENERAL APPROPRIATION, V I V A R I U M .

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the sum of seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) was appropriated for the completion and equipment of the buildings and grounds of the Vivarium. The Executive Committee adjourned.
