company, the said scholarships to be available at the beginning of the school year 1915-16. I t is believed that the organization of the company will. be greatly' facilitated and t h a t . t h e departments concerned will have a better opportunity to select men if the scholarships a r e provided for before the close of the present school year. 8. There will be no additional expense in the way of uniforms as the Army regulations prescribe the same uniform for engineers as for the infantry. A small amount of money should be included in the Military Department budget for the school year 1915-16 for the construction of a "spar bridge" of one type or another. Cadet Colonel and Brigade Commander. The above proposition seems to me easily practicable and most desirable.

On motion of Miss Watson, the plan of organizing a Company of Engineers was approved as outlined above. The President of the University was requested to discuss with the Commandant the advisability of requiring sophomore standing for admission to this company.

(3) A communication from the Comptroller indicating the statuts of the resources of the several loan funds of the University: May U3 1915. President Edmund J. James, University of Illinois. DEAR S I R : Herewith are handed you the statements of the resources of the several loan funds of the University. On April 24, 1913, the Comptroller was authorized to employ the collection department of R. G. Dun and Company in the collection of delinquent fees and delinquent loans from the Snyder Loan Fund (Minutes, 1913, p. 301). The enclosed statements are intended to show not only the resources of the several funds, but also the percentage of notes and interest past due. You will note that the notes of C. M. Morris and Paul Van der Vort are in the hands of Judge Harker for collection. He states that collection is being forced as rapidly as may be. ' Very truly yours,
