On motion of Dr. Montgomery, the supervising architect was authorized to change the heating plant in the building of the College of Medicine so as to make it a low pressure heating plant and to arrange for the purchase of electricity and for the sale of the discarded parts of the present equipment, and the sum of five thousand eighty dollars ($5,080) was made to meet the expenses of the change. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; not voting, Mr. Abbott; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker.

REMODELING CHEMISTRY LECTURE ROOM.

(16) A recommendation from the Supervising Architect that he be authorized to remodel the lecture-room in the present chemical laboratory so as to make the floor fireproof and provide ceiling light, which will be necessary because of the closing of some of the windows by the proposed addition to the chemical laboratory. The estimated cost is $5,000.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the supervising architect was authorized to let contracts for the remodeling of the chemistry lecture-room addition at a cost not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000), the sum expended to be charged to the appropriation for the addition to the Chemistry Building. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker.

APPROPRIATION FOR CATALOGING IN LIBRARY.

(17) A request from the University Librarian for an appropriation of $1,040 for extra service in the University library during the summer in order to expedite the work of cataloging, which is falling into arrears.

On the recommendation of President James and on motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the sum of one thousand forty dollars ($1,040) was appropriated for extra service in the cataloging department of the University Library. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker.

CO-OPERATION CERAMICS INVESTIGATION.

(18) A request from Mr. R. T. Stull, Acting Director of the Courses in Ceramics, for an appropriation of $2,000 for investigating the coal measure shales of the State, in cooperation with the State Geological Survey.

On the recommendation of President James and on motion' of Mrs. Evans, the President of the University was authorized to approve bills to the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000), or such part thereof as may be necessary, for doing this work. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker.

T R A N S F E R OF A G R I C U L T U R A L FUNDS.

(19) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Agriculture and the Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station that $200 of the Hatch money appropriated to the nitrogen fixation experiments be transferred to the Department of Dairy Husbandry, and that $70 of the Adams money for the administration fund be transferred to the Department of Animal Husbandry.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, this transfer of funds was ordered.

A D V I S O R Y C O M M I T T E E S , COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE.

(20) A request from Dr. Eugene Davenport, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station, with reference to the constitution and appointment of certain advisory committees. This matter was presented to the board on December 13, 1913 (see page 669) and consideration was deferred at the request of Governor Dunne.
