location for the School of Pharmacy, and that the Real Estate Board had reported the following valuation: Land $21,600 00 Improvements ; ' 9,000 00 Total valuation $30,600 00 Mr. Abbott presented also a bill from the Chicago Real Estate Board of sixty-five dollars and sixty cents ($65.60) for making this valuation, which bill was ordered paid. APPOINTMENTS MADE BY PRESIDENT JAMES.

The secretary presented the following report of appointments made by the President of the University to fill vacancies in positions authorized by the Board of Trustees: Crane, Rufus, Instructor in General Engineering Drawing, for ten months beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of one. hundred dollars ($100) a month. (July 8, 1913.) Duncalf, Frederick, Assistant Professor of History, for three years beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) per annum. (July 5, 1913.) Hursh, R. K., Research Assistant in Ceramics, for the months of July and August, 1913, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month. (July 8, 1913.) Karrer, Sebastian, Assistant in Physics, for ten months beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of seventy dollars ($70) a month. (July 15, 1913.) Kingsley, John Sterling, Professor of Zoology, at a salary of thirty-five hundred dollars ($3,500) per annum, beginning September 1, 1913. (July 16, 1913.) Lybyer, Albert Howe, Associate Professor of History, beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of twenty-eight hundred dollars ($28,000) per annum. (July Nathanson, Jonas B., Assistant in Physics, on part time, for ten months beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month. (July 15, 1913.) Radcliffe, B. S., Research Assistant in Ceramic Engineering in the Department of Ceramics, for the months of July and August, 1913, at a salary of eighty dollars ($80) a month. (July 8, 1913.)
