A L L E N F . MOORE, J . R. T R E V E T T .

Mrs: Busey moved that the report of the Finance Committee be accepted, that the officers of the board be authorized to close the purchase of the tracts of land recommended by the committee to be purchased, and that the committee be given further time for the consideration of other proposed tracts. President James presented again a recommendation offered at a previous meeting of the board that the board should provide for a special committee, of which the Governor of the State should be a member, to pass upon the Question whether the price proposed for these properties is a reasonable price which the Board of Trustees ought to pay, calling attention to the fact that the so-called "options" were nothing more than offers of the property by the owners at the stated prices, and also urging that putting so much money into land at the present time would seriously embarrass the regular budget for operating expense and the program for the building and equipment. Mrs. Evans moved that the consideration of Mrs. Busey's motion be deferred until the President of the University shall have presented the salary and buildings budgets. A roll call was asked for on this motion to defer consideration, which was passed by the following vote: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Moore, Miss Watson; noes, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Trevett; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Meeker.

DR. MOOREHEAD HEARD W I T H REFERENCE TO T H E T I M E FOR OPENING T H E COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY.

At this point Dr. Frederick B. Moorehead was introduced and made a brief statement with reference to the question whether the re-opening of the College of Dentistry should take place October 1, 1913, or should be deferred until October, 1914. Dr. Moorehead stated that, all things considered, it was his opinion that the college should be re-opened October 1, 1913.

President James then presented the salary budget of the University for the academic year 1913-1914 as follows:
