T h e following r e p o r t w a s received from t h e S u p e r v i s i n g A r c h i t e c t on t h e recent inspection of t h e U n i v e r s i t y buildings by t h e S t a t e F i r e I n s p e c t o r : U R B A N A , A p r i l 20, 1912. To the Committee on Buildings and Grounds: I enclose h e r e w i t h c o r r e s p o n d e n c e r e l a t i n g to fire inspection of t h e U n i v e r s i t y premises by t h e S t a t e F i r e M a r s h a l on J a n u a r y 18 a n d 19, 1912. T h r e e inspectors visited u s a n d looked t h r o u g h t h e buildings, s p e n d i n g a b o u t t e n h o u r s . No r e p o r t h a s been made, of t h e i r findings. T h e y did n o t inspect e i t h e r fire hose,
