UNIVEKSITY OF ILLINOIS.

[June 25,

On motion of Mrs. Evans, it was voted that this recommendation be approved. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Miss Watson; no, Mr. Trevett; present but not voting, Mr. Moore; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Meeker.

NEW LABORATORY FEES.

(15) A recommendation from the Council of Administration that the following new laboratory fees be established in the courses named: Chemistry 105a—Advanced Physiological Chemistry, per hour $2 00 Chemistry 107—Calorimetry (formerly $10), per hour 2 00 Household Science 10—Household Management 2 00 Mechanical Engineering 32—M. E. Laboratory 1 50 Physics 18—Teachers' Course 2 00 On motion of Mr. Hoit, it was voted that new laboratory fees be established as recommended.

DR. BLOOMF1ELD M A D E ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PHILOLOGY A N D GERMAN. OF COMPARATIVE

(16) A recommendation that Dr. Leonard Bloomfield, at present Instructor in German, be appointed Assistant Professor of Comparative Philology and German, for a term of three years beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of two thousand dollars ($2,000) per annum; and also that Dr. Bloomfield be granted leave of absence, without pay, for one year beginning September 1, 1913, for the purpose of European study. On motion of Mr. Hoit, this recommendation was approved. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Meeker.

MAYPOLE PROCEEDS TO BE H E L D IN TRUST.

(17) A request from Miss Gertrude E. Moulton, Director of Physical Training for Women, that the University accept the money which is made at the annual Maypole dance, to be held in trust for the athletic interests of the women of the University, such money to be made payable to her order as Director of Physical Training for Women or to that of her successor in that office, subject to the approval of the President of the University. On motion of Mrs. Evans, this request was approved.

REPORT OF PROPOSED BUDGET CLASSIFICATION.

(18) A report of a University committee on a proposed budget classification. On motion of Mrs. Evans, this report was referred to the Finance Committee for consideration and report.

(19) A statement from Professor George E. Prazer, Comptroller, that the University owns Certificate No. 886 of the Michigan State Telephone Company, giving voting stock of the value of twenty-five dollars ($25) ; and a request for authority to dispose of this certificate for cash, a reliable firm of brokers stating that it can be sold at or above par. On motion of Mr. Montgomery, it was voted that the comptroller he authorized to sell this certificate of stock.

(20) The following letter from Professor George E. Frazer, Comptroller, with reference to the method of signing the University vouchers to be sent to the Auditor of Public Accounts: June 23, 1913. DBAII SIR: Your attention is respectfully called to the fact that the University Appropriation Bill recently passed by the Legislature requires the presentation of individual vouchers to the Auditor of Public Accounts before warrants are drawn.
