44 U N I V E R S I T Y OF I L L I N O I S . [Dec. 13 Meeting of December 13, 1910. The quarterly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was called by order of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, at 9 a. m., Tuesday, December 13, 1910, in the Trustees* Eoom, Natural History Building, Urbana. When the board convened pursuant to the call the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore. Mr. Otis W. Hoit, who had been appointed to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Charles Davison, resigned, took the oath of office before the opening of the session. President James was present. APPOINTMENTS N O T PREVIOUSLY EEPORTED. The secretary presented the following report of appointments made to fill positions provided for in the .budget of J u n e 29, 1910, and not filled at that time, or to fill vacancies caused by declination and resignation:, Aleshire, M. C, assistant in the Military Department, for the present academic year. Bennett, Dean, attendant in the Mechanical Engineering Department, at the rate of thirty dollars ($30.00) a month, effective Oct. 24, 1910, in the place of Harold Wascher, resigned. Blatherwick, N. R., graduate assistant in Chemistry, for the year beginning Sept. 1, 1910, at a salary of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per annum, vice Potler. Brandt, Louis, instructor in Landscape Gardening, for twelve months, from Oct. 1, 1910, at a salary of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for the twelve months, in place of H. F. Major, resigned. Brown, Ina M., loan assistant in the University Library, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month, beginning Sept. 15, 1910, and ending Aug. 31, 1911. Burton, L. V., student assistant in Chemistry, at a total salary of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year, for the academic year 1910-1911, in place of N. R. Blatherwick, who has been made graduate assistant. Carson, Helen D., order assistant in the Library, for the term of nine months, at a salary of sixty dollars ($60.00) per month, beginning Nov. 1, 1910, without vacation. Clark, Mary Helen, catalog reviser in the Library School, for the term of three months, at a salary of sixty dollars ($60.00) per month, work and salary to begin as soon as she reports for duty.
