The Committee on Buildings and. Grounds presented the following report:

URBANA, Oct. 14, 1910.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: The Committee on Buildings and Grounds, at a meeting held at the University October 14, approved the recommendation of the supervising architect for certain additional expenditures affecting the buildings and grounds and amounting to thirty-seven hundred dollars ($3,700.00). At the last meeting of the board this matter was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, with power to act. [See page 27 of this volume, the paragraph numbered 11.] The committee considered and recommended favorably to the board the request of the supervising architect to make repairs and alterations as follows: 1. Repairs on University Hall roof, including paint $200 00 2. Other roofing repairs and painting same 200 00 3. Plastering basement museum wing, National History bldg... 150 00 4. Transformers for Chemistry building 350 00 5. Extension of gas main (400 feet of 4-inch main) 300 00 6. Changes in drum of chemistry freight elevator 50 00 7. Grating over library windows 235 00 8. Lighting of rooms in University hall 50 00 9. Pipe covering and lighting of rooms No. 116 and No. 227, Natural History building 50 00 10. Lighting of room No. 105, Library building 65 00 11. Seat repairs in No. 100, Physics building and No. 228, Natural History building 80 00 12. Additional expense on blackboards in University hall 300 00 13. Changes in recitation room and office for Music Department. 100 00 14. Bulletin boards in Natural History building 75 00 15. Wall radiation in E. E. Dept. Shop 35 00 Total $2,240 00 The committee after a conference with the president of the Electric Coal Company decided to award to that company the contract for supplying coal to the University for the ensuing year.
