1911] PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. 511 Meeting of October 31, 1911. A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone hotel in the city of Chicago beginning at 12 :30 p. m., on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1911, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the secretary on Oct. 24, 1911: Upon the call of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone hotel in Chicago, on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1911, at 12:30 p. m., to consider such matters as the committees of the board and the president of the University may submit and such other business as may be duly presented. The following members were present: Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, President James was present. The secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of June 13, 1911 (with the adjourned sessions of June 14 and' June 22); July 8, 1911, Sept. 12, 1911, and Sept. 26, 1911, all of which, on motion, were approved. The secretary presented also the minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee of the board held on the following dates: June 22 (p. 166), July 8, (pp. 431-459), July 14, (pp. 459-462), July 25, (pp. 462-466), August 1 (pp. 467-470), September 12 (pp. 471-476), September 26 (pp. 494-509) and October 5, 1911 (p. 510), printed in the foregoing pages as indicated. These minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee were received for record. . TREASURER'S REPORT. The secretary presented the report of the treasurer, Mr. H. A.
