This recommendation was approved. MUSEUMS IN LINCOLN HALL; CUSTODIANS. 4. A recommendation from Dr. E. B. Greene, dean of the College of Literature and Arts, that the south wing of the fourth floor of Lincoln hall be set apart for a museum of classical art and archeology, and that Assistant Professor Arthur S. Pease, of the Department of Classics, be appointed custodian of this museum, with an allowance of twoi hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) in addition to his regular salary of twenty-two hundred fifty dollars ($2,250.00); and a further recommendation that the north wing of the fourth floor of Lincoln hall be set apart for a museum of materials illustrating the history of European culture (Kultur H'istorisches Museum), and that Assistant Professor Neil C. Brooks, of the Department of German, be appointed curator of this collection, with an allowance of two hundred fifty dollars _($250.00) in addition to his regular salary to twenty-one hundred fifty ($2,150.00) dollars. I t was voted to approve these two recommendations.

COLLEGE OF MEDICINE LEASE.

5. A recommendation from the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, in regard to the renewal of the lease with the Corporation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, of Chicago, submitted in accordance with the action taken by the board at its meeting on May 27, 1911 (see page 118), whereby the Executive Committee was asked to negotiate a lease for suitable premises for the College of Medicine to be submitted to the board for approval. The recommendation of the Executive Committee was that the board renew the lease with the Corporation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Chicago, for two years from Aug. 31, 1911, on essentially the same terms that are embodied in the lease which terminates on Aug. 31, 1911, with the following modification in addition to those already made. (See the minutes of the meeting of Feb. 28, 1911, pp. 79-81, namely:) In paragraph No. 3 of the lease (see the minutes of the meeting of Sept. 20, 1910, p. 4) the following words (beginning with the second word of line seven and running through line eight and the first word of line nine) "to the end that said party of second part may assume the direction and control of the Schools "of the College of Physicians and Surgeons" shall be changed to read as follows—"to the end that said party of the second part may assume permanent and entire direction, control, and ownership of the Schools of the College of Physicians and Surgeons." And also the remaining words of the said paragraph No. 3, namely, "Which said party of the second part hereby agrees to do from the commencement of and during the said term of the said lease," shall be omitted. I t was voted t h a t this recommendation be approved, and that the president and secretary of the board be authorized to sign a lease so modified on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. ORGANIZATION OP THE COLLEGE OP MEDICINE. 6. The following recommendations in regard to the general organization of the College of Medicine. " That the school be divided into two colleges, Junior and Senior colleges, including respectively the freshman and sophomore years, and the junior and senior years of the present college, and corresponding roughly to what may be called the underlying scientific departments of tlie college on the one hand, and the clinical departments on the other.
