The secretary presented a request from the comptroller for the appropriation of eight hundred dolars ($800) for rebates to students. TJpon motion of Mr. Hatch, and by the following vote, the appropriation was m a d e : Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore; noes, n o n e ; absent, Mr. Anthony, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mr. Deneen, Mr. Meeker.

SCHOLARSHIPS I N T H E SUMMER SESSION.

Upon the request of the director of the summer session, Dr. W. C Bagley, it was voted that the scholarship privileges in the summer session, now extended to those who have been teaching during the. year in the State of Illinois, be extended to those who are under contract to teach in the State during the coming year, and also to those who may be graduated from the several normal schools in Illinois in 1911. KESOLUTlClsrS OF THE ILLINI CLUB OF SCHENECTADY. The .secretary presented the following resolutions of the Illini Club of Schenectady, New Y o r k : RESOLUTIONS OFFERED BY THE ILLINI CLUB OF SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK. March 18, 1911. . WHEREAS, The majority of students who leave their homes to attend the University of Illinois go among strangers in a strange place, and WHEREAS, They have no knowledge of the Twin City physicians, or means of obtaining same, and WHEREAS, We think that if there was a reliable physician at the University in the pay of the State who could be consulted free of charge by those connected with the University much sickness in the University community would be prevented and the people of the State would send their children to the University with greater confidence, and WHEREAS, All students of the University are required to take physical training, we think it well that they should be given a physical examination by a competent physician, and WHEREAS, Other Universities, such as Columbia, having such a physician, have demonstrated the practicability of the idea, be it therefore Resolved, That we the members of the Illini Club of Schenectady, New York, do hereby express it as our opinion that such a physician at the University of Illinois would not only be a local benefit to the University community and the people of the State of Illinois, but that the standing: of the University and of the State would be raised thereby, and be it. further
