Mr. Grout' reported for the Finance Committee t h a t he had received, the report of the Audit Company of Illinois for the quarter ending Bee*. 31, 1910, and a portion was read showing t h a t the books of the treasurer agreed with the accounts of the University. The report was referred to the Finance Committee for consideration and report.

CHICAGO, Mar. 27, 1911.

Mr. A. P. Grout, Chairman of Finance Committee: DEAR SIR—We have made our regular quarterly audit of the books and records of account of the University of Illinois for the second quarter (ended Dec. 31, 1910) of the fiscal year, and submit herewith our report, thereon, together with the appended exhibits and schedules, showing the receipts and disbursements in detail. We reconciled the chief clerk's cash account on the morning of Feb, 27,, 1911, proved the cash book footings from Jan. 14, 1911, to Feb. 27, 1911,. verified the cash in the office by count, examined and proved the footings: of the approved and receipted vouchers in process of entry. We obtained a certificate from the First National Bank of Champaign, 111., certifying to, the cash on deposit Feb. 27, 1911, as $12,938.02.
