WATER SURVEY BUDGET.

By the following vote the president was authorized to approve the budget of the Water Survey: Yeas, Crebs, Blair, Abbott, Davison, Grout, Hatch and Moore and Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Busey; nays, none; absent, Governor D'eneen, Mr. Meeker and Mrs. Bahrenburg. The budget subsequently approved by the president is as follows: ,

Lewis I. Birdsall, chemist of the state water survey for the academic year 1909-10, at a salary per annum of "...... Andrew C. Wilkins, clerk qf the state water survey at a salary per annum of J. J. Johnson, janitor of the state water survey at a salary per annum of Andrew Jackson, laboratory assistant of the state water survey at salary per annum of Carman F. Harnack, stenographer of the state water survey at a salary of thirty-five dollars per month until January 1,1910, total Appropriations to cover traveling expenses, express, postage, printing, equipment, supplies, etc, of , Salary of director, per annum ... FEES OF GRADUATE STUDENTS STUDYING IN ABSENTIA.

Upon recommendation of the dean of the Graduate School the fees of students studying in absentia were made $24.00.

CADET UNIFORMS.

The report of the committee on awarding the contract for furnishing cadet uniforms for two years beginning Sept. 1, 1909, was received and ordered printed:

To the Board of Trustees^ University of Illinois: The committee "authorized to make a contract for furnishing uniforms for the University regiment for the two following years on receipt of a satisfactory bid and bond for the faithful performance of the contract," begs leave to report advertising for bids March 25th for the military uniforms for the ensuing two years commencing Sept. 15, 1909, the bids to be opened at 10:00 a. m., April 30, 1909. The committee met at 10:00 a. m., April 30, 1909, in the office of the Commandant of Cadets; present, Professor S. W. Shattuck and Lieut. Col. B. G. Fechet, U. S. A.; absent, President E. J. James, and proceeded to open the bids in the presence of the bidders. An abstract of the bids with the original bids is attached hereto.
