Pillsbury as registrar of the University the Board of Trustees desire to make a permanent record of their appreciation of his great services. His work, although public attention has rarely been called to it, has had much to do with the remarkable growth of the institution. Conscientious, untiring, careful of details, holding in his memory the names and faces of the thousands of students as they have come and gone, courteous but firm, dealing fairly and justly with all, the Board of Trustees feel that they are justified in the statement that he represents the highest type of a public servant for the public good. He has fairly earned an honorable retirement and with it the gratitude and good will of the students, the faculty, and the Boafd of Trustees of the University. ' .
