Voted that said plan be approved.

17. (a) T h e r e p o r t of t h e advisory committees in t h e A g r i c u l t u r a l College a n d E x p e r i m e n t S t a t i o n c o n c e r n i n g a p p r o p r i a t i o n s t o be asked for from t h e next Legislature. AGRICULTURAL APPROPRIATIONS; ADAMS FUND.

Voted that the President of the University and the committee of the board on the College of Agriculture and Experiment Stations confer with the advisory committees further on this subject.

(b) Recommendation of t h e Dean of t h e College of A g r i c u l t u r e a n d t h e Director of t h e A g r i c u l t u r a l E x p e r i m e n t S t a t i o n as t o t h e use of t h e a d d i t i o n a l funds g r a n t e d by t h e so-called Adams bill for t h e use of t h e Agricult u r a l E x p e r i m e n t Station.

The following recommendations as to appropriations from the Adams fund were approved:

(a) Researches in h e r e d i t y a n d correlation b y t h e s t a t i s t i c a l m e t h o d especially in corn, $1,000. (b) I n v e s t i g a t i o n s concerning t h e effects of i n b r e e d i n g first u p o n pigs, second u p o n corn, $4,000. (c) E x p e r i m e n t s to d e t e r m i n e w h e t h e r varieties o r d i n a r i l y p r o p a g a t e d b y g r a f t i n g or budding m a y be p e r m a n e n t l y improved b y selection, s t a n d a r d varieties of apples to be used in e x p e r i m e n t s , $2,000. (d) E x p e r i m e n t s t o d e t e r m i n e t h e differences in t h e efficiency of t h e descendants of different individual cows for t h e p u r p o s e of beef production as r e g a r d s b o t h q u a n t i t y a n d q u a l i t y , $4,000.
